What does charging cost in United Kingdom right now?

Public AC charging currently averages around € 0,55 per kWh; fast and ultra-fast charging averages € 0,75. The spread runs from € 0,35 at the cheapest kerbside chargers to € 0,95 at premium ultra-fast locations. Practical: charging without surprises

Any major European charge card works at virtually every public charger; at new fast chargers (≥50 kW) contactless bank-card payment is increasingly standard (EU AFIR rules).
Check the status colours here plus the live tariff in your card app before you drive to a charger.
For long trips, plan stops at ultra-fast locations with the route planner and charge from 10 to 80%, above 80% every EV slows down considerably.
Cold batteries charge slowly: precondition by setting the charger as your navigation destination.
Prefer large charging plazas (8+ points): virtually no queues and more stable power.
